This weekend was the moment a lot of us have waited for the past couple of years. Mark Smith has been interviewed by the committee and by the elders already, but now it was our turn. The impression that I got was the most people want us to make an offer to him so that he becomes the full time preacher at Laurel. Don’t just tell me what you thought, fill out one of the comment forms and let the elders know.
If you missed this week or if your curious to hear his lesson during the class time and his sermon, in the next few days, hopefully it will be posted up on Laurel’s website (pending getting the audio from Michael). Typically we’ve just been putting the audio up, but this week we asked Jason Mundie to bring in his video camera so we could record it on video too. I have already captured the video. As soon as the audio is ready, I will have them posted on Laurel’s website and probably here too. Just think of the possibility of having this for every week. Laurel’s web hosting has enough room and bandwidth for this to be feasible. However, it’s not very practical to do it in the current auditorium setup. With the proper equipment it won’t take as much work as it will take this time around. Just think of the possibilities we will be able to glorify God and edify each other with a renovated auditorium.
